Montgomery County Public 学校 is committed to providing rigorous instructional programs that encourage all students to realize their full potential as learners. A continuum of programs and services are provided.
学生’ learning may be enriched and accelerated; and, students may participate in advanced-level coursework at their local schools. Instruction is differentiated to provide all students appropriate pacing and support necessary for advanced-level learning.
学生 may also attend special programs such as centers for enriched studies, 磁铁的程序, 或者专门的项目, based on their interest and talent.
父母 of students in Grades 2, 3, 5, and 7 who are part of the gifted and talented screening or rescreening process recently received a letter in the US Mail and on ParentVue with information about completing the 家长输入表格. This form must be completed by 2024年2月29日 to be considered in the screening process for the current school year.
Directions for accessing and completing the form are in the letter and shown in the video below. 父母/guardians will need the student’s 威尼斯官网在线 Google login information to complete the form.

The administration of the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) has been delayed until after winter break. Testing, including make-up testing dates, was initially scheduled for November 28 - December 15. Additional communication regarding the new testing window will be forthcoming.
CogAT is being used as part of the Universal Screening for Gifted and Talented Identification in Grade 2 only.

To address the needs of academically gifted and advanced readers at the local school level, 威尼斯官网在线扩展了 语言学校的 to all comprehensive K-5 elementary schools. The schools that were added during the 2023-2024 school year began implementing the 语言学校的 in grade 4 and will add 语言学校的 to grade 5 during the 2024-2025 school year.
